Cats are a bit on my mind at the moment as 

a congregation seems to have moved in under my house.   

I am fond of the general animal, the cat, but 

don't care for the yowling under my window.

Of course, if they were as charmingly dressed 

as this young damsel and her even younger charge,

 I might feel quite differently!

Sometimes I like to turn the surrealism button way, way, way up.

Other times, I like to keep the surrealism on a very low simmer.

A young girl named Raquel Raccoon

grew up far too soon.

Her brother was shot 

in a love battle lost

on the floor in a gin soaked saloon.

Sometimes I like to write beautifully melodic poetry.

Other times, I just write really bad limericks.

Questions Three - Digitalmania challenge

Our inspiration this week at digitalmania was more medieval fairy tale than Egyptian, but I have had Ancient Egypt in my head all week.

I am afraid that my pieces might not qualify to be included in this weeks challenge, but I couldn't seem to stop myself from googling pictures of the 1917 Theda Bara version of Cleopatra.

The costumes and the glamor!  I love old Hollywood and then combine that with Ancient Egypt. ...

I couldn't resist!

Also. I do realize that my sphinx is actually the Greek myth version, but she seemed to fit in the background so perfectly.
