Sonnet Glammed! - Digitalmania challenge

The inspiration this week at Digitalmania was the art of Florian Nicholls.

Artwork focusing on the human face or figure is not something that I usually gravitate to, but I love to try something new or different.

I had several false starts, but finally ended up with a few pieces that I like.

I started with a portrait of a young boy by Perugino (my favorite medieval portraitist) and glammed him up.

I added some watercolor brush splatter courtesy of photoshop brushes and finally included some Shakespearean verse.

Voila!  My first digitalmania piece of the week!

New Graphic Design for Quoted Art

Now that I finally finished updating
I have taken a little time and created
some new quoted art pieces.

I felt that Walt Whitman truly
deserved a little attention!

Look for these to be added to my

As always, available as prints
or as jewelry pieces and magnets!

Madame de Pompadour and the Blue Box - Architecture 3Muses Challenge

Mickey Smith: What's a horse doing on a spaceship?
The Doctor: Mickey, what's pre-Revolutionary France doing on a spaceship? Get a little perspective!

I thought this gorgeous gothic hallway was perfect for the Three Muses blog challenge.

Thinking about the 10th Doctor and his tendency to be ensnared by historical females, I wondered if popping in and out of time and space might have made his little romance with Madame de Pompadour a little complex if the timey-wimey aspects of time travel came into play....

Blue - TAW challenge

I imagine that one Queen Elizabeth I would be quite a handful.

Foolish Doctor.

Combining some cracks in time and space, a time traveling police box, and the Tudor Queen that you married, could lead to some rather unpleasant hijinks!

Family Adventures of a rather limited sort

I live in southern Louisiana which usually means that the best time to plan out of door adventures is in the winter months of January and February.  Our average temperatures are usually in the mid-60s.

This year has been different.

I've always lived in the south and have a very difficult time envisioning daily snow and sleet.  I've never had to check for freezing temperatures and fear frozen pipes so many times in a single season.

That brings us to our rather lame adventures.  Last time, I brought you bowling.  This time, I present family games at a local pizza place.

The kids loved it, but it scarcely counts to me as an adventure.

There were games and tickets.  The pizza was greasy.  The noise level was off the charts.

But, they all had fun.  Ages 7 to 18, managed to interact at a single place and have a good time.

Being together and enjoying each other is really the point of a family
so I'll take it as a win even if adventure was not to be found, at least,
not today....
